From March 2014, with the involvement of Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic, Orion offers the ultimate in active, immersive expedition travel, complete with an unprecedented array of tools for exploration to enhance the expedition experience. National Geographic Orion will be newly equipped with kayaks, a state-of the-art ROV (remote operated vehicle reaching depths of 330 metres), full snorkelling gear for all, and a SCUBA program that can accommodate up to 24 divers at a time. The specialist expedition team will be expanded and feature a National Geographic photographer on most departures.

Orion Expedition Cruises Acquired by Lindblad Expeditions
Lindblad Expeditions, the U.S.-based small ship expedition company which partners with the National Geographic Society for expedition cruising, has announced that Orion Expedition Cruises will become part of Lindblad's existing fleet starting with March 2014 itineraries, offering Orion past and future guests access to expeditions around the globe.
